BSA's Mandatory Report of Child Abuse

All persons involved in Scouting shall report to local authorities any good faith suspicion or belief that any child is or has been physically or sexually abused, physically or emotionally neglected, exposed to any form of violence or threat, exposed to any form of sexual exploitation including the possession, manufacture, or distribution of child pornography, online solicitation, enticement, or showing of obscene material. No person may abdicate this reporting responsibility to any other person.

Notify your Scout executive of this report, or of any violation of BSA’s Youth Protection policies, so that he or she may take appropriate action for the safety of our Scouts, make appropriate notifications, and follow-up with investigating agencies.

    Upcoming Courses

For information on all available training courses, including registration forms, see the council training website. Some courses are offered at the council level, while others are offered by different districts at different times. Scouts and Scouters from Seven Rivers District are welcome to attend any course offered by the council or by another district.

    Tracking and Recognition

Does your pack, troop, or crew have a training coordinator? Every unit is encouraged to keep track of adult leader training. The council has a nice page with training resources for units, as well as a page with training resources for commissioners.

When a leader in your unit completes the requirements for the "Trained" patch or one of the other adult training awards, let us know! A leader who makes the commitment to get trained deserves to be recognized.
